How to configure your browser

Overview

To enable certificate management after installing the Redtrust agent, you must configure your browser to support the Redtrust extension or plugin. This step ensures seamless certificate usage across websites that require digital identification. Repeat the process on each browser and device where certificates are needed.

Steps

Configure Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the puzzle icon (🧩) in the browser toolbar.
  2. Find the Redtrust extension and click the settings menu > Manage extension > Details.
  3. Select Allow in InPrivate.

Configure Google Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu > Extensions > Manage extensions.
  2. Find the Redtrust extension and click Details.
  3. Enable Allow on incognito.

Configure Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the puzzle icon (🧩) > Extensions.
  2. Locate the redtrust_firefox_monitor_<version_number>.xpi file on the Redtrust directory. It is typically under This PC > OS (C:) > Program Files > RedTrust.
  3. Drag the file to the browser window you opened in step 1.
  4. In the dialog box, select Run in Private Windows and click Add.
  5. Confirm by clicking Ok.

Summary

Each browser has slightly different steps to enable Redtrust, but all require the extension to be allowed in private or incognito modes. Firefox uses a manual .xpi installation, while Edge and Chrome rely on browser extension settings.
